Portuguese Language Specialist – Mumbai

We are looking for a Language Specialist for our Background Verification (BGV) operations team based in Thane, Mumbai. The candidate should possess strong communication and language skills along with the ability to handle verification processes, client coordination, and documentation activities. Preference will be given to candidates with prior BGV industry experience.

Key Responsibilities:

• Handle background verification processes for global clients
• Conduct employment, education, and address verification activities
• Coordinate with candidates, universities, employers, and vendors
• Maintain accurate records and update trackers/systems regularly
• Review documents and identify discrepancies or missing information
• Ensure TAT (turn-around-times) and quality standards are maintained
• Communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Support operational and client requirements as per business needs

Preferred Languages:

• Portuguese
• French
• Arabic
• Spanish

Requirements:

• Graduate in any discipline
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• Foreign language proficiency preferred
• Prior experience in Background Verification (BGV) will be preferred
• Comfortable working in rotational shifts
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and email communication
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment

Preferred Skills:

• Good written and verbal communication skills, including proficiency in a foreign language (French, Arabic, Portuguese, Spanish, etc.)
• Basic understanding of professional email etiquette and ability to communicate with global candidates and institutions
• Strong attention to detail while reviewing documents and data
• Willingness to learn background verification processes (employment, education, address checks)
• Good follow-up and coordination skills to collect required information in a timely manner
• Basic knowledge of MS Excel and ability to maintain trackers
